Communications Portfolio

A communications generalist with 15+ years’ experience in the energy, not for profit and public sectors, my passion is using the power of language to inspire, inform and connect.

Articles

Catalyst | Conducted interviews and wrote this for the official IABC publication.

Daily Oil Bulletin | Wrote this paid content for Energy Safety Canada.

Printed Materials

Writing style guide | Developed the contents and worked with Studio Forum to design. Pages 16 -17 were printed off for employees to use as cheat sheets.

Handout for workshop participants | Worked with an Energy Safety Canada executive to develop the content and with Maverick to design.

Brochure | Created magazine-style brochure for United Way Alberta Northwest to use as a marketing piece with potential business donors and community partners. Photos were provided and I developed content and layout.

Posters

Worked with Maverick to design these as part of Energy Safety Canada’s brand evolution. These were internal posters for employees.

Worked with Studio Forum to design these with Energy Safety Canada’s original brand identity. They were external-facing in all the organization’s locations and are also housed in the “Resources” section of their website.

Videos & Copywriting

Innovation Exchange (“IX”) summary video | MindFuel’s IX event brought together individuals from government, education, industry, startup and non-profit, as well as youth, to discuss the intersection of STEM, education and creativity. A graphic recording of the day’s events was drawn in real-time and filmed to create a stop-motion animation. My role was to take 33 minutes of video, arrange and edit it down to four minutes maximum, and write the script for the voiceover.

Instagram videos to promote my book, Beasts With a Backstory | In 2023, I self-published a book with my drawings of animals, each of whom have a short blurb with a few funny facts about them.
